As an educator, I often take the initiative to read up educational journals and books in order to improve my teaching. However, now that I am pregnant, I found it fascinating that many traits and characteristics I have observed, that many have dubbed "undesirable", in my secondary students can be traced back to childhood and earlier.
So this has got me interested in the basics - the brain. I am currently reading up about neuroscience in babies to teenagers just to find out what makes them tick and in what ways learning can be more beneficial to them. I hope the layman information provided here can be prove especially useful to anyone should they like to choose an enrichment classes for the little ones or for those interested in pursing a Masters and beyond in the Education field.
